If Salisbury Christian were feeling good off their 92-53 takedown of the Freire Charter School Wilmington Dragons last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Salisbury Christian had to suffer through a rough 77-30 loss at the hands of Tome. While losing is never fun, Salisbury Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Tome is ranked 128th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tome to victory, but perhaps none more so than Herold Beljour Jr., who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The contest was Beljour Jr.'s seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Griffith, who scored nine points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Salisbury Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Tome, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Salisbury Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Delmarva Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Tome won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Faith Baptist School at 11:45 a.m. on December 28th.
