If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for North Rowan. They will be playing at home against West Montgomery at at 7:30 PM on Friday. North Rowan will be looking to avenge the 13-20 loss they took the last time these two teams played.
North Rowan were averaging 30.57 points per game entering their matchup last Friday, but they just couldn't find their rhythm against North Stanly. North Rowan took a serious blow against North Stanly, falling 8-43. North Rowan got a solid performance out of junior Malcolm Wilson, who picked up 121 yards on the ground; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. That makes it eight straight good games in a row from Wilson.
Meanwhile, West Montgomery put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They won the contest and then some against North Moore, taking the contest 35-14. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point West Montgomery had established a 35-7 advantage.
West Montgomery's win lifted them to 4-5 while North Rowan's loss dropped them down to 6-2. In their win, West Montgomery relied heavily on senior Payton Coble, who rushed for 254 yards and 4 touchdowns. North Rowan will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
