The biggest upset of the week belonged to Resurrection Christian, who took down 126th ranked Resurrection Christian, 29-28. Brett Cumming ran for 106 yards and caught two passes for 56 yards in the win.
Wiggins extended the longest winning streak in 1A North Central this week by beating Rocky Ford, 48-20. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
The Cougars' dynamic duo of Luke Mondt and Trent Buxman proved tough for Holyoke to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Mondt threw for 290 yards and one touchdown and Buxman had 147 yards receiving. Jake Lohr helped Resurrection Christian's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 77 yards.
Thayer Sauter was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 220 yards on 23 carries as Wiggins lost to the Dragons. Teammate Garret Walker added to the ground attack by rushing for 91 yards.
Kyler Churchwell made the biggest impact on defense this week as Wray bested Cornerstone Christian Academy. The 5-foot-9 junior grabbed two interceptions.
Rich Yonker's team's Mondt and Lohr have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Mondt has thrown for 1173 yards this season, while Lohr, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 26 catches for 406 yards. Mitcheal Risner's team's Sauter leads the league in rushing yards with 1098.
The top two teams in 1A North Central will face off this week when first place Wiggins takes on second place Wray. Last week, the Tigers topped the Meloneers, while the Eagles beat the Bulldogs.
