The Wyomissing Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 77-51 walloping at the hands of Trinity. While losing is never fun, Wyomissing can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Trinity is ranked 98th).
It was another big night for Owen Schlager, who scored 32 points along with six rebounds and two steals for Trinity. Schlager has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Andre Steele was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Wyomissing's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Trinity, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-4.
Wyomissing does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trinity, they will be playing at home against Tunkhannock at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tunkhannock is coming into the contest with five straight losses on the road, meaning Trinity will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
