Baseball Recap: Cross Roads Has No Trouble Against Bishop Gorman

While Cross Roads didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Bishop Gorman Crusaders on Tuesday as the Cross Roads Bobcats made off with a 12-2 win. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Beaudee Dickey made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dickey was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Tristan Himes and Ruger Bane did most of the damage at the plate: Himes scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Bane scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Bane has posted since back in April of 2024.

Cross Roads always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Gorman only posted an OBP of .381.

Cross Roads' record now sits at 4-0. As for Bishop Gorman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Cross Roads will take on Thorndale at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Gorman, they will challenge All Saints Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on March 11th. Bishop Gorman has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
