After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mansfield Summit, The Everman Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Corsicana by a score of 37-25. Given Everman's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Corsicana is ranked 585th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Corsicana still got an impressive performance from Darelle Smith, who rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns. Smith's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Everman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Corsicana, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Everman will head out on the road to face off against Midlothian Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midlothian Heritage is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Corsicana, they will be playing at home against Joshua at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Joshua comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
