The Blum Bobcats had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 52-25 win over Valor Preparatory Academy.
Despite the defeat, Valor Preparatory Academy saw an underclassman step up: Ellie Buck scored 11 points. The match was Buck's third in a row with at least ten points. Ellie Mathis was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Blum's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Blum will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Iredell at 5:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
