Tecumseh and Benjamin Logan are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Arrows will host the Raiders at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Tecumseh is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Tecumseh's offense. They came up short against Kenton Ridge on Wednesday, falling 10-0.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Benjamin Logan). Everything went their way against Fairbanks on Thursday as they made off with a 13-5 victory. The Raiders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7th (when they won 9-0).
Soli Hughes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Oliver Morse and Cayden Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Morse got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Brown went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two hits gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Lyden, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Benjamin Logan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Tecumseh now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Benjamin Logan, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Everything went Tecumseh's way against Benjamin Logan when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Tecumseh made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Arrows repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
