Carbon strolled past Delta with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 61-42. Given Carbon's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Delta is ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carbon was led to victory by Jacie Jensen and Amiah Timothy. Jensen scored 20 points along with three steals and two blocks, while Timothy scored 20 points along with six steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Jensen posted two or more blocks. Madison Orth was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Carbon pushed their record up to 15-4 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home. As for Delta, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carbon will take on Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Richfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Delta, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. North Sanpete is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
