Citrus Valley got a massive performance out of Nevaeha Tarin, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-5. That's the most home runs Tarin has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Caldwell, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Citrus Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Redlands East Valley's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yucaipa on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Thunderbirds recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Redlands East Valley also got a good showing from Isa Navarro, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Navarro gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in March.
Redlands East Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Citrus Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
Redlands East Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Citrus Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. It's a different story for Redlands East Valley, though, as they've only averaged .357. Will they be able to contain Citrus Valley's hitters?
