The Columbia Central Lions will venture away from home to take on the Cascade Champions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Columbia Central will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Columbia Central's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Spring Hill with a sharp 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five games by 15 runs or more so far this season.
Bailey Lovell was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Columbia Central let Jayden Pendergast and Molly Underwood run wild. Pendergast went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Underwood went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Underwood has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Paxlee Harris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Columbia Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Cascade made easy work of Riverdale on Monday and carried off an 11-0 win. The contest marked the Champions' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Makenzie Fisher was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Alivia Fannin, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.
Cascade now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Columbia Central, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Columbia Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .626. However, it's not like Cascade struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Columbia Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Cascade in their previous matchup on Friday, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Columbia Central since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
