Higley has gone 7-2 against Gilbert recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Knights will head out to square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Higley's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matchups, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Higley is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since February 27th on Thursday. They fell just short of Highland by a score of 3-1.

On the hitting side, Higley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Joslyn, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four matchup, Gilbert brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past Mountain Pointe 10-0 on Friday. Considering the Tigers have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Wilfredo Aviles IV made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Brady Carlin was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Mason Kenas also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Gilbert hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Higley now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Gilbert, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12.
Gilbert's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Higley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Gilbert, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Higley keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
Higley beat Gilbert 8-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
