After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Randleman, The Trinity Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Friday. They skirted past Southwestern Randolph 27-25. This was payback for Trinity, who suffered a 56-12 loss the last time these two teams met.
Trinity's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Hodges, who picked up 240 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Hodges' longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards. Trinity also got a significant boost from Dominic Payne, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
Trinity's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Southwestern Randolph, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will face off against Brevard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brevard will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Southwestern Randolph, they will head out on the road to face off against West Stokes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
