The Foothill Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Golden Valley Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Foothill was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-54 to the Bears.
Despite the defeat, Foothill had strong showings from Gio Cruz, who shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, and Alejandro Pacheco, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cruz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Diego Cabrera, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Golden Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 65-49 to East Bakersfield. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Golden Valley in their matchups with the Blades: they've now lost three in a row.
Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Golden Valley, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.
Foothill suffered a grim 69-48 defeat to the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January. Can Foothill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
