The Mt. Vernon Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Tecumseh, falling 64-25. Mt. Vernon has struggled against Tecumseh recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Hannah McNeece was Mt. Vernon's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Cora Bell held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.
Tecumseh's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenna Donohoo, who scored 15 points. The game was Donohoo's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Marx, who scored 11 points.
Mt. Vernon bumped their record down to 2-17 with that loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tecumseh, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
Mt. Vernon will head out on the road to face off against Evansville Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tecumseh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gibson Southern at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gibson Southern has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,131 points over their last 17 contests.
