St. John's Christian Academy extended the longest winning streak in SCISA 8-Man Region I (8 Man) this week by beating Charleston Collegiate, 74-50. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
St. John's Christian Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Evan Hammond threw for 149 and three touchdowns and Damian Hurta had 79 yards receiving. On the ground Rashae Bey chipped in 294 yards. Mike Lewis helped St. John's Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 43 yards.
On the ground, Henry Academy's Paul Deloach has rushed for 1865 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Gibson Wall. The Henry Academy star has 18 catches for 459 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between James Island Christian and Beaufort Academy. James Island Christian enters the game ranked 17th in the state, while Beaufort Academy ranks 23rd.
There should be lots of points scored when Bill McCall's team and the Patriots face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Cavaliers comes in having scored 492 this season, while Henry Academy has scored 380. St. John's Christian Academy scored 74 points last week as it beat Charleston Collegiate.
Coastal Christian Prep led SCISA 8-Man Region I (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 84 points on Mike Mccoy's team.
