The Dyett Eagles will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus Ravens at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Dyett suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Hyde Park 56-28. While losing is never fun, Dyett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while Hyde Park is ranked 122nd).
Kamari Watson put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyana Sanderson, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 46-36 to Morgan Park Academy.
Dyett bumped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6.
