The Los Gatos Wildcats won the last time they faced the Mountain View Spartans, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Los Gatos rang in the new year with a 49-39 win over Mountain View. Given Los Gatos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Mountain View is ranked 363rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anthony Martin was his usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with six steals. Nolan G. koch was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Jayden Minor, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Minor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaden Feller, who scored 11 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Los Gatos and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Los Gatos will be playing in front of their home fans against Saratoga at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Saratoga is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they will head out on the road to challenge Wilcox at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Wilcox has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 203 points over their last three games.
