The Victor Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were the victim of a tough 47-26 defeat at the hands of Two Eagle River. Victor was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Two Eagle River apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Two Eagle River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dayani Piapot, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Piapot has scored at least 25% of Two Eagle River's points. Another player making a difference was Layla Tenas, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and seven steals.
Victor bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Two Eagle River, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5.
Victor will take on Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Two Eagle River, they will head out on the road to face off against Hot Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
