The Owego Free Academy River Hawks waltzed into their game Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 44-38 W over Watkins Glen.
Owego Free Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison McEvoy, who scored 17 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which McEvoy has scored at least 25% of Owego Free Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Brown, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Owego Free Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Watkins Glen, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Owego Free Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Homer at 6:45 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Watkins Glen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Charles O. Dickerson at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
