The Princeville Princes will head out on the road to face off against the Monmouth United Red Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeville is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Princeville gave their fans yet another huge victory two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] with a sharp 75-54 victory. Princeville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Monmouth United's game on Tuesday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]. Monmouth United has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Princeville pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Monmouth United, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season.
Princeville and Monmouth United were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but Princeville came up empty-handed after a 50-49 loss. Can Princeville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
