On Monday, the North Smithfield Northmen faced the Toll Gate Titans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. North Smithfield came out on top against Toll Gate by a score of 43-35. North Smithfield's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Leading North Smithfield to victory were Raeghan Reilly and Ava O'Neill. Reilly scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while O'Neill scored eight points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Those eight assists set a new season-high mark for her. Bryson Murray was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
North Smithfield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Toll Gate, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
North Smithfield will be playing at home against Burrillville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Toll Gate, they will head out on the road to face off against Pilgrim at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Pilgrim is ranked 29th, while Toll Gate is ranked 20th).
