With a playoff game on the line, the Cherry Creek Bruins rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on Legacy with a sharp 31-7 win. The win was just business as usual for Cherry Creek, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Cherry Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Fox out in front who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Fox was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. Another player making a difference was Brady Vodicka, who threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Legacy still got an impressive performance from Tyler Anderson, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Cherry Creek's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.44 points. As for Legacy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Cherry Creek will square off against Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Vista is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
