This season hasn't been kind to the Cedarcrest Red Wolves, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 32-31 to Shorewood. Cedarcrest lost against Shorewood in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-37 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Cedarcrest saw an underclassman step up: Kiki Anderson dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, Cedarcrest were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cedarcrest's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Shorewood, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedarcrest will take on Mariner at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Shorewood will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stanwood at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
