The Stanhope Elmore Mustangs lost against the Carver Montgomery Wolverines two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Stanhope Elmore took a 66-49 bruising from Carver Montgomery. While losing is never fun, Stanhope Elmore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Carver Montgomery is ranked 107th).
Conor McPherson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Carver Montgomery, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. McPherson hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Zander Frazier was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Stanhope Elmore dropped their record down to 9-18 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Carver Montgomery, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season.
Stanhope Elmore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carver Montgomery, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-52 loss vs. Lanier on the 7th.
