Palm Harbor University has struggled against Mitchell recently, as their matchup on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Palm Harbor University's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leah Barker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Barker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Melinda Julian was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Mitchell was led to victory by Priya Jacob and Kaylana Little. Jacob dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Little dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Jacob's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Moriah Hillmon, who scored ten points.
Palm Harbor University has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Mitchell, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
