Sadly, the Eek Cougars are still looking for their first win of the season after nine matchups. They were dealt a 71-41 defeat at the hands of Kongiganak on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eek in their matchups with Kongiganak: they've now lost five in a row.
Kongiganak found their leader in underclassman Gracelyn Miller, who scored 23 points. Miller is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Mariah Tinker, who scored 12 points.
Eek's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Kongiganak, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Eek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-34 defeat vs. Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat on the 8th. Kongiganak has also already played their next game, a 51-31 defeat against Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial on the 8th.
