Duchesne will challenge Millard at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Duchesne knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Millard likes a good challenge.
If Duchesne beats Millard with 16 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-10 margin over North Summit on Tuesday.
Scottie Branson made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Duchesne's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is undefeated (and 3-14 when he doesn't). Branson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylann Butler, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nashden Goodliffe, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Duchesne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .532. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Millard's offense. They came up short against Enterprise on Wednesday, falling 15-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Duchesne's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Millard, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Millard's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Duchesne has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. It's a different story for Millard, though, as they've only averaged .358. Will they be able to contain Duchesne's hitters?
Duchesne beat Millard 10-7 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Will Duchesne repeat their success, or does Millard has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
