Wake Forest and Heritage are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long. The Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wake Forest's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Heritage's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Wake Forest's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Rolesville. Considering the Cougars have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Jackson Hardy tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Wake Forest got a massive performance out of Ian Williams, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Williams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kellen Rogers, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Wake Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rolesville only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, Heritage didn't have quite enough to beat Wakefield on Monday and fell 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Huskies have suffered against the Wolverines since May 5, 2022.
Heritage also got a good showing from Holden Kafes, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Kafes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tyler Abbe was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
Wake Forest's record now sits at 12-5. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Heritage's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wake Forest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. It's a different story for Heritage, though, as they've only averaged .253. Will they be able to contain Wake Forest's hitters?
Wake Forest might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Heritage when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
