The Hutto Hippos will head out on the road to square off against the Bryan Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bryan took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hutto, who comes in off a win.
Hutto can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Copperas Cove 4-0. Given Hutto's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Copperas Cove is ranked 667th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hutto hit Copperas Cove with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Sebastian Gonzalez,
Andy Milan,
Selvin Sevilla, and
Santiago Gonzalez-Guzman.
Bryan might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to Midway, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Bryan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hutto's victory bumped their record up to 4-2-3. As for Bryan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-4 record this season.
Hutto was able to grind out a solid win over Bryan when the teams last played back in March of 2023, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hutto since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
