The Central Cabarrus Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 64-18 win over Concord at home. The result was nothing new for Central Cabarrus, who have now won five contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Central Cabarrus got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jahnae Duncan out in front who scored 13 points along with seven assists and six steals. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Cruz, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and four steals.
Central Cabarrus' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-6. As for Concord, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Cabarrus will take on Lake Norman Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Concord, they will head out on the road to face off against Robinson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Robinson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Concord in North Carolina (Robinson is ranked 63rd, while Concord is ranked 373rd).
