The Sheridan Yellowjackets will head out on the road to square off against the Fayetteville Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sheridan has three straight wins, Fayetteville has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Fayetteville's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Sheridan hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Yellowjackets blew past Lake Hamilton 14-0 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won 13 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Cooper Terry looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Skylar Sterritt, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Sterritt, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Sheridan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Hamilton only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, Fayetteville came up short against Rogers Heritage on Thursday and fell 6-2.
Fayetteville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Watts, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Sheridan pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fayetteville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-2.
Sheridan's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Yellowjackets have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Fayetteville, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Sheridan continue to outrun the ball?
Sheridan took their victory against Fayetteville in their previous meeting back in March of 2018 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
