Baseball Recap: Anderson Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Anderson Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers. The Jets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Deaf Hoosiers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Breydon Ball was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was CJ Fletcher, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one RBI.

Anderson Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1.

Coming up, Anderson Prep Academy will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Indianapolis Shortridge at 5:30 p.m. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.86 runs per game on average), something the Jets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, they will head out on the road to face off against Bethesda Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
