After a string of four wins, The Nebraska City Pioneers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Auburn by a score of 34-32. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Auburn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maverick Binder, who rushed for 174 yards. Binder is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Nixon Ligouri also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
Nebraska City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Auburn, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Nebraska City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Auburn will play host again and welcome Ogallala, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Ogallala is ranked 38th, while Auburn is ranked 46th).
