Softball Recap: Cleveland Wins Going Away Against Hixson

While Cleveland put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Hixson. The Blue Raiders blew past the Wildcats 8-0. The Blue Raiders haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Klaire Hall's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lilly Mason and Landri Nelson did most of the damage at the plate: Mason went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Nelson scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Those four RBI gave Mason a new career-high. Allison Farnsworth was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Cleveland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cleveland's record is now 10-11. As for Hixson, they moved to 11-9 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Cleveland will host Rhea County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Golden Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hixson, they will venture away from home to challenge Bradley Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
