The Minneola Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the South Central Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Minneola comes in on ten and South Central on five.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Minneola had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Sylvan-Lucas 28-6. Considering Minneola has won nine matches by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Eli Lang continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 139 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 118 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Lang was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Meanwhile, South Central can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Central Plains 58-12 at home.
It was another big night for JT Prusa, who rushed for 121 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Prusa is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. Isaiah Jellison was another major influence, as he rushed for 74 yards and ran in a TD.
Minneola's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for South Central, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.
Everything went Minneola's way against South Central in their previous meeting back in October of 2021 as Minneola made off with a 46-26 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was South Central's Tucker Uhl, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Minneola to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
