The California Pintos will head out on the road to face off against the Eugene Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. California is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
Last Tuesday, California earned a 56-43 victory over the Hornets. Given California's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Hornets are ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Eugene stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Linn 68-35 on the road. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Eugene had established a 23 point advantage.
California has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Eugene, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.
California came up short against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 60-52. Can California avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
