Pendleton Heights and Hamilton Southeastern are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. Avry Miller was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten matchups. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Fox, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Pendleton Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Hamilton Southeastern faced Fishers in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Royals blew past the Tigers 7-1. Considering the Royals have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaleah McCarter made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. McCarter was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaycee McCarter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Addy Richmond was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Hamilton Southeastern's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Pendleton Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Pendleton Heights hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Hamilton Southeastern struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
