It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Norcross Blue Devils had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 34-10 margin over Denmark. The result was nothing new for Norcross, who have now won six matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Norcross was led to victory by Kevin Maven-winchester and Arrington (aj) Watkins. Maven-winchester rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, while Watkins gained 186 total yards and two touchdowns. Maven-winchester's longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Norcross also got help from Jahsaun Clarke who showed off his sure hands for 88 receiving yards.
Norcross has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.2 points per game. As for Denmark, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Norcross will be playing in front of their home fans against Buford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Buford's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matchups. Denmark does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
