If Fairfield was feeling good fresh off their 52-7 takedown of Valley last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fairfield Falcons lost 59-36 to the West Campus Warriors on Friday. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Fairfield lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Francesca Vercide, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaisha Mathis, who earned seven points and seven rebounds.

West Campus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Esabel Otsuji led the charge by going 9 of 20 on her way to 24 points in addition to six assists and five steals. Naomi Johnson was another key player, putting up 17 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Fairfield's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-7. As for West Campus, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Fairfield has already played their next matchup, a 57-24 win against Wood on the 20th. West Campus has also already played their next contest (against Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
