Gilbert scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders by a score of 76-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (55), the Indians still had to take the loss.

Jaylan Weaver continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northside Christian Academy, going 9 of 13 en route to 23 points along with six assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Burks, who posted seven points and six steals.

Gilbert's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Northside Christian Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Gilbert will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South Aiken at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Northside Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 74-47 victory against Northwood Academy on the 21st.
