Marques Campbell went supernova for Holy Cross, rushing for 168 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Campbell was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Holy Cross also got help from Ronald Florian who showed off his sure hands for 89 receiving yards.
Holy Cross has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Watertown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will challenge Gilbert/Northwestern/Housatonic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Gilbert/Northwestern/Housatonic is ranked 80th, while Holy Cross is ranked 61st). As for Watertown, they will head out on the road to face off against Wolcott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wolcott is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
