Laurence Manning Academy has gone 8-2 against Porter-Gaud recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. On Friday, Laurence Manning Academy didn't have too much trouble with Trinity Collegiate as they won 37-20. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Swampcats.

Among those leading the charge was Grainger Powell, who threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024.
Laurence Manning Academy didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Trinity Collegiate to a completion percentage of just 41.9%. The Swampcats weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 52.6%.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Daniel Vargas: he added nine points with three field goals and another two kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Porter-Gaud). They claimed a resounding 57-8 victory over Cardinal Newman. The Cyclones haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Laurence Manning Academy better keep an eye on Amir Chisolm. He was instrumental in Porter-Gaud's win, rushing for 206 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Scott Tibbals, who rushed for 32 yards and one score.
Porter-Gaud's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Laken Hawkins was another major factor on D, making five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Porter-Gaud's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Laurence Manning Academy was dealt a bruising 52-23 defeat at the hands of Porter-Gaud in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Swampcats, Jammall Fludd (who rushed for 210 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
