Greenville Classical Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on Hampton Park Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenville Classical Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the are ranked 63rd).
Last Friday, Greenville Classical Academy came up short against the Warriors and fell 64-52. Greenville Classical Academy has not had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Hampton Park Christian came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Upstate HomeSchool 59-38. Hampton Park Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.
Hampton Park Christian relied on the efforts of Seth Moeder, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, and Trevor Gearhart, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Gearhart is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Gantt, who scored 12 points.
Greenville Classical Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9. As for Hampton Park Christian, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Greenville Classical Academy came up short against the in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 61-51. Can Greenville Classical Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
