Pecos is 1-9 against Andrews since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m.
Pecos came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-3 to Seminole.
Carriz Hernandez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Andrews got the win against Greenwood on Tuesday by a conclusive 18-3. Considering the Mustangs have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Arianna Sanchez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Georgia Lambert, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Andrews kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 16-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Andrews has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Pecos, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pecos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Andrews struggles in that department as they've averaged .382. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
