Berks Inter-County 1 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Governor Mifflin extended the longest winning streak in Berks Inter-County 1 this week by beating Conrad Weiser, 56-30. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Mustangs.
Exeter Township took down Daniel Boone 35-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kyle Yocum threw for 24 yards and one touchdown and ran for 95 yards in the win.
Matt Connelly was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 139 yards on 24 carries as the Eagles fell to Pottsville.
Jan Johnson put up the best numbers through the air as Governor Mifflin bested the Scouts. He finished with four completions for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson's favorite target this week was Trey Dunkelberger, who caught one pass for 49 yards.
Hoffman was the best wideout in the league this week as the Raiders fell to the Crimson Tide. Hoffman racked up two receptions for 58 yards. Danny Techman helped Twin Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Nick Schoener and Angle Cruz Conrad Weiser has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Schoener leads the league in passing with 1174 yards, while Cruz has rushed for 1505 yards this season. Exeter Township's Alex Dundore leads the league in receiving yards with 369 on 14 catches.
Matthew Bauer's team's Connelly needs only 40 yards against Cumberland Valley next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 122 carries Connelly has accumulated 960 yard this year.
Dominic Vecchio's team led Berks Inter-County 1 in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Alan Moyer's team. Johnson ran for 119 yards in the win.
