Tolman is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Lincoln is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Tolman Tigers will take on the Lincoln Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Tolman's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups.
Last Friday, Tolman earned a 55-47 win over Middletown. Given Tolman's advantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Middletown is ranked 29th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tolman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Saulsby, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Saulsby hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Gelinas, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lincoln stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard last Monday. They blew past Middletown, posting a 81-47 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Lincoln has posted since December 12, 2023.
Lincoln got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Bergeron out in front who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Camden Dichiara, who scored 21 points.
Tolman's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's contest: Tolman have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 6.6 threes per game. It's a different story for Lincoln, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 threes per game. Given Tolman's sizeable advantage in that area, Lincoln will need to find a way to close that gap.
