Softball Recap: West Muskingum Has No Trouble Against River View

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against John Glenn, West Muskingum was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the River View Black Bears 12-4. Considering the Tornadoes have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kadie Bare spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addy Antonetz, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daylee Foster, who went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

West Muskingum was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River View only posted a batting average of .172.

West Muskingum's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for River View, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

West Muskingum didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-5 victory against Maysville on the 21st. As for River View, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 win against John Glenn on the 21st.
