McDonald and Lowellville are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but not for long. The McDonald Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Lowellville Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McDonald will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Even though McDonald has not done well against Springfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. McDonald narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Springfield 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win McDonald has posted yet this season.
McDonald got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joey Cappuzzello out in front who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Brady Klockner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Lowellville aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Tuesday extended their overall winning streak to four. They enjoyed a cozy 46-32 victory over Western Reserve.
McDonald now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Lowellville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
McDonald was dealt a bruising 69-31 defeat at the hands of Lowellville in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point McDonald was down 33-13.
