The Buffalo Bison will head out on the road to face off against the Powell Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Buffalo will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
In what's become a running theme this season, Buffalo gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Torrington 72-39 at home. Buffalo pushed the score to 60-32 by the end of the third, a deficit Torrington had little chance of recovering from.
Buffalo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Karly Davis led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Peterson, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Powell faced Lander Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Powell took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lander Valley last Friday.
Buffalo pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points per game. As for Powell, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-4.
Buffalo was able to grind out a solid win over Powell in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 69-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buffalo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
